My mother in … Read more This is a late 19th- early 20th Century copper and brass vessel from Thalassinos in Athens Greece. My mother in law bought it the late 1950's. She was told a number of uses, every year she visited Athens.... A barbers Hot water vessel, An olive oil dispenser. A wine vessel.. it has a removable lid with finial, the opening is 4" diameter. The interior is rusty .We really dont know its original use, but we suspect it was a hot water dispenser. This was simply used as decorative piece on her kitchen window sill. We never used it, its had the original shop info on a scrap of paper inside the unit. Thalassinos, 88 Pandrossou St, Athens, Greece and phone number.
