The inkwells’ lids are hinged to the … Read more This is a stunning, large, antique French marble and gilt bronze double inkwell. The inkwells’ lids are hinged to the wells and have motifs of swirling leaves with berries culminating at the top for the pull. The other motifs are varying sizes of beading and egg and dart. The large, shaped, marble base they are attached to has insets on either side for quills or pens. The beautiful marble has a cream ground with rich brown, mauve, and black veins. All this rests upon four octagonal bronze feet. See less
