These two Chinese famille verte Kangxi Dynasty style boys were likely reproduced by the famous Edmé Samson porcelain factory in Paris during the 19th century. The figurines during the Kangxi Dynasty were considered erotic figures as they represented the purity of childhood and the mystery of the lotus blossom which emerges from mud and transforms into pristine beauty. It’s possible figures such as these were exported to the West.
