Chinese, 19th century.
Presented is a very unusual Chinese vase of traditional form, celadon glaze to the body and decorated with the popular famille rose medallion pattern. One side which has a window featuring a figural elder window and lots of gilt accents. The verso which has an unusual blue underglaze "samurai" figure heavily detailed with gold gilt. The rims have rose and vine motifs and lion form handles. Unmarked.
