A sculptural branch sweeps across the body, sprouting glossy emerald leaves in high relief, each one finely incised with delicate veining. The speckled glaze gives the surface a lifelike, textured skin. Small vent hole near the stem, original to the firing process.

Ceramic fruit like this was placed on Taoist altars as an offering when fresh fruit was out of season. The peach is the traditional symbol of longevity, making this a meaningful gift as well as a beautiful object.

Stunning grouped with other altar fruit in a bowl or on a tray, or on its own on a bookshelf, coffee table, or desk. A natural fit for chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, and grandmillennial interiors.
