George Daniell (1911-2002) was an American photographer, born in Yonkers, New York. He was a well known figure in the 20th-Century. His work appeared is numerous publications across the U.S., and was shown in an exhibition at MOMA in New York in 1952. His work can also be found at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. Daniell photographed a number of celebrities and famous artists during his life, including Audrey Hepburn, Georgia O’Keeffe, Berenice Abbott, John Marin, and Tennessee William. Following a stroke in the 1980s, he returned to one of his early passions; painting. He received his BFA in painting and photography from Yale University in 1934.
Daniell worked as a photographer at the Cinecitta Movie Studios in Rome, Italy in 1955. He traveled around the country after completing his contract
