A magnificent pair of mid century Murano art glass figures, depicting a harvest scene of a couple carrying a bowl … Read more A magnificent pair of mid century Murano art glass figures, depicting a harvest scene of a couple carrying a bowl of fruits on their shoulders, made with a high level of artistic style and skilled workmanship, rendered in beautiful shades of teal, emerald and amethyst glass, further enriched with generous amounts of 24k gold that are embedded the glass, entirely hand made using time consuming methods of manipulating molten glass into shapes and fusing the various components. Created by Gino Fort, the glass artist who, with other prominent artists of the era founded the Gino Cenedese & Figlio firm in 1946. Each piece is hand signed, engraved in diamond tip pen: 'Fort Gino Murano 12/7/65'. He often signed his pieces using his family name 'Fort' preceding the first name 'Gino'.
