These … Read more This Really is a Great Looking Authentic Antique Early American Primitive Wooden Pantry Box. Circa Very Early 19th Century. These Types of Boxes were used in Kitchens & Pantries to Store Grains, Rice, Beans, Seeds, Flour, Etc. It is Completely Hand Made with Steam Bent Maple Wood Sides that are Done in the Classic "Finger Lap" Style with Hand Wrought Iron Fasteners. The Bottom & Top Panels are Made Out of Pine and are Held in Place with Small Tapered Wood Pegs ( There is No Glue Used in the Making of This Box ). It is in Very Good Condition. The Exterior Finish is Original and has Developed a Wonderful Color and Patina That only Time - Use and Exposure Can Create - Displays Beautifully. I purchased this piece on one of my Recent Picking Adventures in the Down East Coastal Maine Region.
It Measures Overall Approx. 3 inches Tall x 6 3/8 inches Wide - Long
