Fabulous and very true to early 1920s advertising, this charming and colorful piece was originally exhibited as a point-of-sale marketing tool (you can tell by noting the small hole punched in the middle of the top of the piece where the store owner would have strung some twine through to be able to hang the piece in his store or store window).

This maquette would be lovely in a kitchen, country home or gallery. It was used by a company called Stella Rondot which seems to have made some type of paste, which, when used on fabric, made it waterproof. The fellow in the ad says Il peut pleuvoir... j'ai tout imperméabilisé à la Pâte Stella Rondot! which translates to: Let it rain, I've waterproofed everything with my Stella Rondot paste! Printed by Chambrelent & Company in Paris, this piece is ready to be framed. It is printed on hard card stock and is in very good condition. See less
