Using a varied palette of warm rich colors, … Read more This beautiful aquatint etching is by the noted artist, Hans Figura (1898-1978). Using a varied palette of warm rich colors, it depicts boats in a harbor. It is probably Venice, but I am not sure. Most of Figura’s colorful depictions of sailboats are images of Venice. This one must be rare; I could find no images on the internet. The print is signed in pencil in the lower right. This print is uncommonly large for Figura’s work. The image measures 13.5” x 19 ¾”. The framed size is 22”x28”. The print is printed on satin or silk that has been wrapped around a piece of artist board. The silk has not been glued down – it is only taped on the edges on the reverse of the board. The print is in very good condition. The colors are vivid and rich. There are no stains or tears in the image or margins. The dark mat is very nice and goes well with the print. I lost the frame, so it is now matted, but not framed. I will ship with the mat. See less
