Born in France in the early 19th century, hand-crafted of warm rich solid mahogany with attractive grain detail, Napoleonic Neoclassical Louis XVI influenced style, having a rectangular gray/black marble top, mounted over case fitted with three dovetailed drawers, above four turned and tapered supports, joined by thick single board plank medial open shelf, rising on distinctive bobbin turned feet.

Strong, sturdy, stable and structurally sound, with nicely aged heavily worn warm rich dark patina over the whole. Retaining original antique character marks and rustic charm throughout, including evidence of old fill, scattered nicks and losses, light scratches, minor chip to back left corner of marble, lacking interior top drawer lock plate, later escutcheons, age related split at right side panel. Overall a wonderful example, sure to add sophisticated character, elegant warmth, classic styling, and rich historical depth to any space.
