The Italian designer Gio Ponti was a mid century star in design history! Ponti was a Renaissance Man of the design world and his works are coveted in the furnishings marketplace.
Ponti's work for Laurel Lamp Company was some of his most clean and modern! This Laurel Floor Lamp penned by Ponti has his trademark architectural simplicity and style!
This torchiere is an absolute work of art! It's distinctive profile cuts a striking simplicity while its shape and lighting ability are top notch! A gigantic shade houses a single 3-way socket permitting this torchiere a variable intensity illumination!
Ponti's designs for Laurel Lamp were following a musical theme. All of the lamps were designed to relate to the forms of musical instruments! Cymbals, Trumpets, Trombones and Tibetan singing bowls all became inspiration for Ponti's designs!
Epic Style, renowned designer and fine vintage condition with enamel wear to the inside of the bowl shade, minor dings and age wear typical for the vintage. Laurel Lamp sticker still present on lamp!
