Decorative Turkish ceramic dish typical of the city of Kütahyya with oxide painted design. This piece exhibits a striking naturalistic geometric decoration very typical of Arab and Asian ceramics. Lacarreía, such as ornament or decorative resource, is the set of ornaments formed by straight or angular intertwined lines arranged following fixed or random scheme templates, forming stars or polygons. This is presented, profusely, in the central part, with a combination of different colors. This central part is surrounded by bands, two of them with geometric motifs and the third with plant shapes.
The ceramics of Kütahyya has a very interesting story since its origins date back to the fifteenth century in neighboring Iznik. Over time it has received influences from Arab art, from the style of the Ottoman Empire, from the Armenian people \. it was mainly used for the mural decoration of Ottoman palaces, mosques, fountains and tombs. During the twentieth century, typical daily parts of daily life began to be marketed internationally such as dishes, jugs and vases, vessels, or pots for some family businesses. Today these pieces are highly appreciated in the art market for their impressive decorations and interesting origin.
It presents a seal subsection in the lower part that attests to its origin of Kütahya.
