An early piece by master ceramicist Joe Monk. The artist is currently part of a small collective producing wares out of Oxide Pottery studios in Lynchburg, Virginia; I believe this was produced while the artist had strong ties in the Richmond area (teaching at VCU, etc.).
A well executed piece with fitted lid top, whimsical heart under side of lid. About 5" square and 13" tall overall. 5 lbs., 9.1 oz.
