It is created from clay, and glazed in brown on the bottom, and a light pale lavender on the top. The neck of the vase is capped with a smooth round edge. The top of the piece is scored with vertical lines. To us, it almost looks inspired by sea life. A black-speckled paint peeps through the lavender and is peppered throughout the top. The bottom brown is shiny and almost metallic brown. The base of the piece is unsigned and unglazed. This would be a nice piece to display on a bookshelf alone or to add flowers and display on a side table or nightstand.
