They are NOT recent reproduction prints. They feature couture designs by iconic fashion names, Robert Pigeut and Cristobel Balenciaga for New York's Lord and Taylor. They are whimsical images by the illustrator, Christian Bérard. Bérard was a multifaceted French artist who worked for French and American Vogue magazines, created theater and costume designs, vacationed with Coco Chanel, collaborated with Elsa Schiaparelli and has works in leading museums worldwide. His works are often whimsical in nature. This set are typical of his work. Note the whimsy with the musicians playing their music for the fashion models. Note too the poses and gestures, the wispy floral designs and of course the shades of pinks. The elegance and sophistication of the fashion are classic of the period (especially the bolero design, classic for Balenciaga). This is the first time we have this set in our collection. They are in pristine excellent condition with a wonderful color palette. Each measures 8.75 x 12 inches in size and each is custom matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat. They can be matted with or without the documentation description at your request. Please allow time for custom matting. See less
