Biedermeier walnut armchair, South West Germany 1820.
This very comfortable original Biedermeier walnut armchair or bergère comes from south west Germany. The design of the chair shows the influence of the French Restoration Style. (1814-30). The armchair has beautifully curved armrests and a barrel shaped backrest. It comes refinished with a shellac hand polish and new upholstery and a new velvet fabric.
