A romantic lithograph on paper titled "Acolliment" by Spanish Modernist Alvar Sunol. Hand signed in pencil on the bottom right with an annotation of 140/175 on the bottom left. Published in 1992. Alvar is known for his technical expertise. He is passionate about his concept of el oficio, the commitment to his vocation and appreciation for the traditional artistic values bequeathed by the masters. Renaissance artists, especially Piero della Francesca, Vermeer and Balthus, are particularly admired by him. He views his work as an inheritance from and devotion to Catalonia, specifically Romanesque art, yet imbued with a modern sensibility. His themes, though varied, remain steadfast in their revelations about the human condition and complexities, about love and peace. Time is a prominent and recurring theme, referencing history and art history. Dimensions: 32.25"w x 1.25"d x 40"h (framed). In very good vintage condition.
Alvar Sunol (1935- ) also known as Alvar, is a Spanish painter, sculptor and lithographer. He is one of the few remaining living Modernist artists. At age 18, he won the Young Painter's Prize in a competition sponsored by the city of Barcelona and his painting was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona for its permanent collection. In 1957, he had his first solo exhibition in the Galleries Layetana in Barcelona. In 1959, after serving in the Spanish Military, Alvar won a scholarship to the Institut Francais in Paris. In Paris in the 1960s, he showed with other prestigious Spanish artists including Miro, Dali, and Picasso. In 1962, the Monede Gallery in New York showed Alvar's work in his first exhibition in the United States. Alvar's works have been on display in over 40 museums (exhibitions and permanent collections) and over 95 galleries and museums throughout the United States, Europe and Japan.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
