Extraordinary Antique Arts & Crafts, Folk Style Burned Match Stick Jewelry Box. Made by hand in prison by a prisoner. Fabulously detailed outside covered in single burned match sticks, inside lined with electric / lapis blue Velvet fabric. Lots of Drawers and compartments. Such effort, detail, patternwork and craftsman ship - one could only imagine the person who made this Box did so over lots of time, for someone he cherished! Dates back to early 1920's. American.
Fabulous and Funky, this rarity will make an excellent statement piece for Boho Chic lovers and folk art collectors / fiends a like.
