Four floral medallions amid … Read more Chinese porcelain guanyinzun, a baluster shaped vase with a white glazed exterior, interior and inset base. Four floral medallions amid leafy, curling vines are quartered on the convex band of the neck with a circle of large, polychrome leafy lappets above it and a circle of large, red and green, Ru Yi lappets below. The flange of the neck has a large, red band with white floral medallions amid leafy, curling vines and a band of red and green floral chevrons below, all bracketed by thin, double trim circles. Chinese scholars in a fenced garden with trees, bushes and grasses with curving ribbons above is finely painted in polychrome glazes on the body of the vase. The foot has a larger band of the same, red and green, Ru Yi lappets that are below the convex band on the neck. A blue, six character, Jiajing, reign mark within double circles is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu, circular stand is included. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century.
