Alto, one of the masters of 20th century architecture and design, first exhibited this seminal work at the Paris World's Fair in 1937 at which it became an instant sensation. Today it is widely considered the greatest modernist piece of art glass of the period and is still being produced by the original manufacturer Iitalla of Finland in the original process of mouth-blown glass using 7 craftsmen in a 12 stage process that takes 30 hours to complete one piece. Cased glass with Opal White under layer of clear.
Alto's name with model #3030 is etched on edge of underside.
