A stunning Long necked vase … Read more Beautiful Scandinavian Modern Mid-Century cast deep blue glass vase by Gote Augustsson for Ruda glasbruk. A stunning Long necked vase from the "Kobolt" series by Göte Augustsson. A truly elegant piece with a richly textured surface, in a stunning cobalt blue. REAL cobalt was used in this series. All the series were made with carbon footage technology , an old technique where the decor is engraved in the soft carbon molds which were cheap to produce. Then the objects are blown into the molds, which makes them appear worn and not so long. Augustsson is represented at the National Museum in Stockholm.
Göte Ulf Vilhelm Augustsson , born January 4th, 1917 , was a Swedish designer,self-taught and had not attended any art schools. Augustsson was active at Ruda glass mill and is famous for its 1960s glassworks, Cobolt, Green Rustic, Demant, Orient and Selena.
