A border of polychrome, Ru Yi lappets, capped by a thin red trim line, bands the neck just below the lip. The neck is decorated with finely drawn, polychrome butterflies, ending in a band of ornate, polychrome Ru Yi lappets. The flange of the neck is banded by acanthus leaved, red flower medallions alternating with red Shou characters amid a lattice of curving vines, bracketed by thick gold rings and thin red trim circles. The body of the vase continues with large, finely drawn, polychrome butterflies. The extended foot is circled by floral medallions centered on curling vines, with a border of large, ornate, polychrome Ru Yi lappets above it. A red, four character reign mark in Zhuanshu Script is glazed to the inset base. Circa Republic of China period, no later than mid century. See less
