Stealing inspiration from the pompous grass-dotted dunes on the fringes of San Francisco, John and Elinor McGuire founded McGuire Furniture in 1948. The husband-and-wife duo was fascinated by natural materials, and sought a way to make them into sophisticated yet casual furniture.
