The Rebar Collection
Troy is continuously experimenting with new design concepts, materials, techniques and structures, in his pursuit to create new and sublime art forms.
Troy’s inspiration for developing his Rebar collection came from working alongside his father as a young protégé in the family home building business. He was fascinated by the industrial materials used on the job and re-imagined their purpose in the form of furniture as art. His creativity has given new expression and functionality to this basic building material through his evocative designs.
In his signature Rebar collection, the rebar is heated with acetylene torches and red-hot furnaces, skillfully sculpted with pneumatic machines, then powder coated or electroplated. During assemblage the rebar is integrated with other high-end design elements, such as marble, exotic woods, leathers, and custom glass, taking care to ensure the integrity and interpretation of the original design.
