I founded Maureen Stevens Design in 2013, and my work is rooted in creating spaces that feel layered, lived-in, and deeply personal. Based in New Orleans, I split my time between New Orleans and Austin and work with clients across the country.

My designs have been featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, House Beautiful, HGTV Magazine, The Associated Press, and more. While I value recognition, what matters most to me is creating homes that feel authentic to the people who live in them — spaces that balance beauty with real, everyday function.

My approach to design is well-edited but never sterile, elevated yet approachable. I love mixing classic elements with unexpected details - adding a little “oomph” to sophisticated spaces and warmth to polished ones. I’m drawn to rooms that tell stories, filled with meaningful pieces, collected objects, and moments that reflect a life well lived.

I work on mid- to high-end residential projects, from renovations and ground-up builds to full-service design, decoration, and styling. My services include space planning, finish and fixture selection, design boards, and complete project oversight. I also collaborate with builders, architects, and developers, and I offer e-design services for clients outside my primary markets.

Whether I’m helping refine a single room or shaping an entire home, my goal is always the same: to create spaces that feel cohesive, functional, and unmistakably yours.
