    About

    Shop Banner

Los Angeles-based artist James De Wulf, has been widely recognized for his original and innovative work with concrete design. Known for his commitment to pushing the limits of his art both functionally and aesthetically, James fuses concrete technology with modern and natural concrete forms and other materials including bronze, brass, steel, stainless steel, and iron.

A graduate of Emory University, an early career in investment banking was followed by years working as a real estate developer in Atlanta, GA. Upon visiting a concrete shop for a new development project, James became fascinated by concrete as a material source. Profoundly moved by its transformation from liquid to stone, his passion for handmade design began.

In 2004, James relocated to Los Angeles to explore this new medium of artistry, with an initial focus on concrete countertop installations. His craft and attention to detail soon caught the eyes of an elevated clientele list of A-list celebrities and their designers, who began commissioning work on a project basis. Over the next decade heestablished De Wulf Concrete, a boutique design firm servicing architects, interior decorators, commercial retail outlets, and residential clients. In 2014, James moved to Berlin to further develop business within Europe and Asia, followed by time in Copenhagen, Malmö, and Koh Samui.

Now back in LA, James De Wulf’s cutting edge designs have evolved into a full scale product line of indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, sinks, countertops, and even gaming and ping-pong tables which are available at choice retail outlets and through his website, www.jamesdewulf.com.
