Offering paintings, watercolors and limited edition prints from the estate of Massachusetts artist and well-known Professor of Fine Arts, Frank McCoy (1925-2018). Born in Wichita, Kansas, McCoy studied at the Academie Royale des Beaux Arts in Liege, Belgium and received a BFA and Masters in Fine Arts from Kansas University. McCoy taught painting, drawing and printmaking at UMass/Dartmouth for 32 years and retired in 1991. He continued to draw, paint and exhibit his own work for the next 25 years. McCoy is listed in Who’s Who in American Art. He exhibited in many regional and national juried exhibitions, and his work can be found in many public and private collections in Massachusetts and across the country. McCoy was a regionalist painter best known for capturing the dynamic light present year round in the coastal town of South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. He was deeply affected by the beauty of nature and loved to paint nearby harbors, beaches and the sea. In his own words, “I draw and paint hoping that some of the time, there will be poetry in my work.”
