Many items I am initially listing have been gathered, inherited, or found in Northern Indiana (settled by the French in the late 1700s). I gathered my favorite "oo la las" from loved ones' closets, basements, attic boxes -- and a dusty ol' curio cabinet and kitchen cupboard or two. Once my kin were tired of seeing me and my boxes, I broadened my curation horizons to Northern Indiana Farms and Historic Property Estates, as well as braving a few auctions here and there. I rarely passed up a yard sale filled with dusty boxes of treasures, too.
I have had the blessed opportunity to travel through the USA, Europe, the Islands, and Asia, and made it a point to fill my return baggage with excellent bits and bobs from each country's version of flea/street markets or charity/vintage shops. What a joy it is - treasuring, appreciating, and sharing other people's old, well-loved stuff. It is a nostalgic and beautiful process, and sometimes very funny to witness the treasures CHERISHED and kept for decades!
I enjoy the FINDING, the researching, the WHOLE process. If you have questions, feel free to ask, I might know, or know where to look! Super interesting, I am an Indiana Jones Wanna-be!! Except more girlie.
I will continue to do this 'gratitude-infused' process while in the land of the Hoosiers taking care of my parent's old homestead. I am terribly glad that THIS amazing Chairish venue is offered to help me SHARE THE JOY!!!
