I am a collector gathering objects to create beauty and function.
Growing up in a family of 7 kids, my mom was constantly scouring thrift stores and garage sales. My dad, a farmer, was either building or restoring things from furniture to machinery. This taught me the beauty of old, well-loved possessions and about the potential and distinctiveness each one holds.
Thrifting is an adventure to me. The excitement of the hunt as one of a kind possessions are waiting to be found. I spend hours scouring junkyards, old farms, thrift stores, auctions, estate and garage sales to find that perfect item. I love finding items with character that spark the imagination of its story, knowing they hold a rich history of stories and ownership, which connect us to the past.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design but decided the 9-5 wasn’t for me after a few years. My childhood upbringing and design education have taught me what to look for as the details make the design. From the colors, to the materials chosen, to the construction and how it is made, to the marks and wear over time, make each object different and tell its own story.
My hunting philosophy can be summed up in five words: nostalgic, graphic, whimsical, colorful, and pretty.
I’m passionate about thrifting because it allows me to find and share heirloom quality objects and clothing that people love and surround themselves with daily. Whether it is home décor, clothing and accessories, or baby clothes, I want to keep finding things that encourage, inspire, and make you giggle.
My other hobbies include painting, designing, and sewing.
