My work is driven by a passion for capturing the essence of diverse subjects in ways that deeply resonate with viewers. Each piece begins with a foundational sketch using charcoal, monochromatic paint, or playful marks and splatters to establish basic forms and composition. I then build up layers of paint with brushes or trowels, often scrubbing, sanding, or scratching to reveal hidden textures and colors beneath. By sidestepping minutiae and traditional hues, I allow the paint, color palette, and spontaneous abstract marks to guide the creative process. In the final stages, I blur the line between realism and abstraction, leaving just enough detail for the viewer’s imagination to complete the image.
