Carolyn is a mixed media artist in South Carolina where she creates from her home studio.
Her collage work is heavily influenced by her work as an interior designer where she draws inspiration from the textiles and patterns, weaving them into vibrant, energetic floral compositions on canvas.
Carolyn’s work is all about layers, texture and color. Depth and interest is created through the layering process of these elements on the canvas which she is constantly moving around, cutting tearing and rearranging the hand painted rice paper and various collected textiles on the the canvas, a process that is much like working a puzzle.
There is a whimsical and playful element in much of Carolyns work and her love of chinoiserie and traditional design is echoed in her paintings.
Carolyn’s work has been collected worldwide and her goal is create happy, colorful pieces that bring a smile and add joy to your home.
