A Wine Note by Laura B.

I grew up around good furniture that was actually used. The kind of house where the mahogany had rings on it and nobody minded. That's still the standard I buy to.

My style runs toward classic American prep: needlepoint and chintz, brass and bamboo, tole and cane, faded florals, the odd piece of Ethan Allen, Herend, or blue-and-white. Grandmother's antiques, essentially, but mixed with more modern pieces so the whole thing stays livable instead of museum-ish. I'm not interested in a room that looks decorated all at once.

A few things I hold to. Quality over quantity. I list fewer pieces and stand behind each one. Originality over trends. If it's showing up in every feed this season, it probably isn't here. And I'm always hunting for the one strange, wonderful thing that doesn't fit any category, because that's usually the piece that makes a room.

Offers welcome, questions more so. Follow the shop, and I'll let you know when something good lands.
