I am drawn to the untamed honesty of a child. It reminds me of the creative mavericks I look up to such as Picasso, Matisse, Nin - to name a few, those who unapologetically defied convention. Using exaggerated shapes, saturated color and allowing drips and splatters to show, a youthful innocence of spontaneity is captured in my figures.
