Artist Biography
Gaston Haustrate was a Belgian artist born in Brussels in 1878 and died in Ixelles in 1949. He was a painter who studied at the Academy in Brussels. He preferred landscapes, cityscapes and figures, among other things. He specialized in old Brussels neighborhoods, alleys and corners. His works are characterized by a realistic design with a sense of light changes and the display of foggy weather. From 1899 member of the "Le Sillon" Group. Work among others in the Museum in Ixelles. Listed in BAS II.
