Made … Read more PRESENTING AN EXCEPTIONAL AND RARE 18C Irish Sheraton Satinwood Display Cabinet of GORGEOUS neat ‘diminutive’ proportions, from circa 1780-1800.

Made of beautifully naturally patinated Satinwood, mahogany and rosewood banding/moldings.

Probably Irish, as it was found and acquired in Ireland and the ‘drop and dart’ molding on the top cornice, is commonly associated with Irish Georgian/Regency/Sheraton furniture.

Display top has 3 glass shelves with glass front and side panels, with molding on the front glass panels.

Original 18th Century glass in the front and sides.

Beautiful drop and dart molding under the Regency style pelmet.

Base has two doors that open to reveal 2 shelves.

Both doors have a classically Regency/Sheraton, oval center cartouche with ‘herringbone’ inlay surrounding.

Rosewood banding appears throughout the piece, including the glass moldings.

The secondary woods are dark mahogany, further indicating the quality of it’s construction.

This was made by a ‘top quality’ maker, for a very ‘high-end client’ in the late 18th Century!

Two drawers, separate the top from the base and both have the original brass hardware.

Curved feet to the base.

Provenance: Bought by us from a reputable High-end Dealer in Ireland.

Dimensions: The piece is 66in High. The base portion is 30.75in high, 25.25in wide at base and 16.75in. The Display portion is 35.25in High, 19.5in Wide and 12in Deep.

Condition: Overall it is in very good original condition for it’s age. One or two very minor repairs to veneer, but nothing significant. The bottom right door has slightly warped with age, but it still closes and does not adversely affect the piece. See less
