Very large and rare goldscheider ceramic figurine of the 1920's: striding graceful young lady in oriental clothing, balancing an amphora … Read more Very large and rare goldscheider ceramic figurine of the 1920's: striding graceful young lady in oriental clothing, balancing an amphora on her head, the delicate bustier, essentially consisting of two decorated cups and held together by ribbons and chains, a hip ornament loosely placed around the waist, which holds the skirt around the legs together, hair covered by a floor-length cloth decorated with an elaborate, stylized floral pattern, right hand on hip, left hand supporting the amphora on her head. On a black, stepped rectangular base, the artist's signature 'lorenzl' on the back. Designed by josef lorenzl (1892 - 1950), one of the most important designers who worked for the goldscheider manufactory in the period of 1920-1940. This model 5525 was created circa 1925.
