We are featuring a stunning collection of original oil paintings by Barry Benner. He was an accomplished artist from Douglasville, Georgia. We are thrilled to present this original piece measuring 31.825 inches in width x 25.825 inches in height (including the frame). Titled "Knots" and is signed on the back. This artwork is executed in the Impasto style, showcasing the texture and richness of the paint in a three-dimensional way that invites the viewer to engage with the piece. While the depth and dimensionality of the paint strokes are difficult to capture through digital images, we have taken multiple photos to provide a glimpse of the painting's tactile quality. These artworks are truly unique and one-of-a-kind. We have acquired these directly from The Benner Estate. If you have any questions about this piece, please don't hesitate to ask.
About Mr Benner:
Barry Benner was a remarkable artist who discovered painting as a verb, rather than a noun at an advanced age. His instinctive paintings were aimed to evoke a visceral reaction from the viewer. He often achieved this through his preference for oil paint because of its fluidity, depth, and forgiveness. He liked to experiment with thick and thin layers of paint to capture honesty in his work.
His paintings included environmental scenes, abstracts, and symbolic images rendered in an abstract environment. He used heavy-handed strokes to penetrate beneath the surface glaze, and often included silhouetted figures detached from their surroundings to imply a lack of communication. Benner enjoyed the dimension added by reflected light when using dark colors and the insights into his subjects that his heavy textures added. Ultimately, he hoped that his work would leave room for his viewers to interpret his paintings based on their own experiences and expectations.
Sadly, Mr. Barry Benner passed away in September 2022, but his legacy lives on through his remarkable work.
