The grid drawn over it was used to make a larger charcoal copy of the drawing. This is the process used to make a large mural so each square of the grid can be copied individually insuring an accurate representation of the original artwork but at scale. The frame is vintage and has a lovely scrolled design and patina to the silver and green paint. The green (jade, sea foam) and gray tones are nice together. Newly re-framed into a vintage frame that is probably closer to a century old.

This would be fun in a country kitchen or a study. The back is sealed up with a fun spotted paper. This item is ready to hang.

To create my gallery collections, I collect vintage art and frames from antiques shops, flea markets, hand me downs or anywhere else I may happen upon them. I also use my own artwork/prints and photographs at times. Each frame is cleaned and repaired, sometimes repainted, and each piece of artwork is cleaned when possible and sometimes cropped to fit into an old frame. Each grouping is thoughtfully curated using color, style or content to create cohesion and harmony. These are almost all vintage items and many of them have obvious aging, minor damage, and discoloration often creating a beautiful patina reflective of its age. These imperfections cannot be fixed, are intentional, and lend themselves to the vintage feel of items handed down over generations. The effort I put into sourcing the art and frames, refining the groupings, and choosing complementary mats, adding glass/plexiglass when missing, repainting frames, adding hanging hardware/rewiring is not insignificant and prices reflect those materials and labor as well as the overall quality of the art and frames.
