Layers of blues, white, navy and a touch of black create this richly saturated painting.
The beauty of this abstract painting comes from the accumulative process of chance and control. Tim then lays down the primary layer horizontally by the squeegee and a second layer vertically. More layers follow above them, while he occasionally scrapes of the surface with a palette knife, so the old layer shows up from below. When the palette knife sweeps the surface, the sublayer is revealed, and they create a unique pattern of chance.
The process is repeated accidental mixture and scraping, and weaves the multi-directional color bands, layer upon layer. The result is incredible optical effects that cover up the large immersive paintings.
Acrylic on paper.
