I wish I knew whose home this room divider was originally painted for- the mineral pigments that form the bright blues of the pheasant feathers and the deep greens of the leaves against the gold leaf is so striking.
These screens have been used for centuries, mostly as wind breakers in bedrooms. Originally utilized purely for their functionality, they have now transformed plain walls and boring corners in homes for years with their beauty.
