Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the later years of the 19th century, this elm wood cabinet features a rectangular top with central board, sitting above a two-toned façade. Two burl wood drawers, fitted with brass C-scroll handles, are followed by two doors of the same essence. These doors are fitted with a traditional brass medallion with teardrop pulls and are secured with circular hinged in the corners. They open to reveal a dark brown interior made of shelves offering convenient storage space. The lower section presents a beautifully carved apron showcasing two dragons in scrolling foliage flanking a central flower. The sides are made of recessed panels and the back is finished with a reddish brown color. The ensemble is raised on four straight legs with simple stretchers on the sides. With its two-toned finish, skillfully executed décor and nice proportions, this Chinese Qing Dynasty period cabinet from the late 19th century will make for a wonderful addition to any home, placed in a bedroom or living room.
