This magnificent porcelain vase is a striking example of 19th-century Chinese artistry, crafted with rich enamel colors and intricate storytelling scenes. The body of the vase is adorned with detailed hand-painted depictions of elegant court ladies in a garden, surrounded by scrolling lotus vines and auspicious cloud motifs. A deep maroon ground contrasts beautifully with turquoise and gold patterns, showcasing the exceptional skill and vibrant aesthetics typical of famille rose porcelain from the Qing dynasty.
On the bottom of the vase is a red square seal mark written in archaic-style Chinese characters. This seal translates to: “Made in the Qianlong period of the Great Qing Dynasty.”
Qianlong Emperor (1736–1795) was known for a golden era of Chinese porcelain production. This vase dates to the 19th century, and the mark pays tribute to that prestigious era.
