Substantial and surprisingly heavy for its petite size, the turtle is cast in metal with a dark patinated surface accented by applied panels in warm gold, and copper tones across its shell. The hinged shell lifts to reveal a shallow interior ashtray, with small rests incorporated around the rim. The applied metallic decoration continues across the turtle’s head, feet and tail.

At just over four inches wide, this is a fantastic little decorative object in addition to its original function. We love it displayed closed as a sculptural turtle on a coffee table, desk or bar, while the interior could easily be repurposed today for jewelry, coins or other tiny treasures. See less
