Fabulous Large Vintage Chinese Sancai glazed pottery figure. After the 18th C Qing Dynasty Sancai glazed temple sculpture designed to ward off evil spirits and protect the owners. Sancai means three (3) beautiful colors - green, yellow, white - also blue & pink. Important cultural artifacts of Chinese art & history. Our warrior is riding a large mythical lion also known as a Foo Dog.
The Chinese Sancai Warriors look great in pairs. If interested, there is a second Warrior - Left Facing - available in my ETC Shop. Last photo shows the pair.
These Warriors stand on their own. However, due to their age & beauty, it is best to have them mounted on a solid surface such as wood or Lucite or mounted to hang on the wall.
