Before Sur La Table and Williams Sonoma made knock offs of these Portuguese divided artichoke plates, Sociedade de Exportação e Cerâmica, Lda (Secla), manufactured these pottery dishes in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. This is an original set of these fabulous decorative serving dishes.
The plates have a beautiful artichoke leaf design, a center well, section for mayonnaise or dipping sauce, and an additional compartment. Display the decorative plate set on a kitchen hutch or in dining room breakfront when you are not using them to serve artichokes. The vintage ceramic plates could also be used for seafood such as oysters or shrimp, or sushi.
The vintage ceramic plates are in good condition showing wear consistent with age and use including crazing to the glaze typical of this type of pottery.
