Astonishingly realistic mid century Japanese embroidered Uchida silk stitched chinoiserie portrait of an old man in a hat, lifting a sake cup. Signed lower right. Translation: 昇龍 is the name, meaning ""rising dragon"" or ""flying dragon"". The seal is 竜, means ""dragon"".
Attributed to the Kaicado Gallery, circa 1950s.
