Kathleen Murray was born in Los Angeles, California in 1958. In the early 1970s, Murray spent three years in Europe studying art and languages at the American School in Switzerland (TASIS) and a year in Italy at St. Michael's School outside Florence.

She resides in the Monterey Bay area where she is well known for her deeply saturated and textured landscapes and seascapes of Carmel, Big Sur and the surrounding coastal areas. See less
