The set consists of 9 … Read more This is a very special collection of Montagnani brass flatware in a handsome display case. The set consists of 9 pieces total, 6 spoons, 2 forks, 1 petite knife and 1 cocktail pick. Pieces range in length from 2.25” - 8.25” and .25” - 1.75” in width as seen in photos, with the display case, which measures 12” x 8” x 3”. All pieces are marked “Italy.” Each piece features beautiful medieval-style detailed craftsmanship, ranging from human and animal figures to scrollwork and royal motifs. Whether used for serving special guests or simply on display for pleasing the eye, this collection recalls the beauty and elegance of a long-gone era that is now only in books and films.

The Montagnani factory was founded in 1871 by a man named Giovani. They are cast brass and plated in silver. They made large serving pieces as well as the souvenir spoons. When they are stamped with Italy on them this means they were made after 1891 the factory closed in 1918 due to World War 1. They always made very elaborate designs of statues and art pieces that were located in Italy as well as animals and angels.
