Lohans (or Arhats) are followers of Buddhism's "Eightfold Path" and have achieved full spiritual enlightenment, reaching Nirvana and making them no longer subject to reincarnation. Because of their status, Lohans statues are an important part of Buddhist temples and adept at warding off evil.
